European Association of Aerial Surveying Industries (EAASI) achieved outstanding success with its EAASI Students Tour programme at INTERGEO 2025 in Frankfurt. The event took place for the second year in a row, and its capacity was fully booked well in advance, confirming the growing interest of students in the fields of aerial surveying and geoinformatics.
The Students Tour was primarily aimed at university students attending INTERGEO as part of their academic programmes. EAASI offered them the opportunity to see aerial surveying technologies directly in practice – without theoretical lectures, but through live demonstrations of sensors, processing workflows, and real-world applications from everyday industry operations.
The tour was led by Patrik Meixner, Chair of the EAASI Students Committee and CEO of PRIMIS, together with Marcos Martínez-Fernández, Secretary-General of EAASI. Students thus had a unique opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals, gain insight into current technologies, and better understand career opportunities in the aerial surveying sector.
The strong interest in the Students Tour confirms that connecting academia with real-world practice has a clear purpose and a strong future in the geospatial and aerial surveying industry.
